Plotdesign

The standard procedure for soil sampling involves satellite sampling centred on a soil profile. Usually this centre point is permanently marked with a magnetic marker.

The profile pit should be at least 1 m deep, and the vertical front wall should be at least 0.8 m wide. For the satellite samples, four boreholes are drilled to a depth of 140 cm, starting from the centre of the BZE, at 10 m intervals in the four cardinal directions (Wellbrock et al. 2022).
