Meteorology

Climate and weather significantly influence wood production, vegetation growth, water balance, storage of carbon in wood and soil, pollutant deposition, pest reproduction in the forest and damaging events such as forest fires and storms. The collection of meteorological parameters is crucial for developing scientific models to calculate and predict these processes and ecosystem services. In the long term, climate change can be quantified by studying changes in meteorological parameters at forest sites.

Assessed parameters:

  • Atmospheric parameters
  • Soil climate parameters
  • Stand climate parameters
